I'm an idiot. I fixed it.
I would like 12 - 15 spells in each school. Some individual and some mass combat.

Suggestion for the divination branch: Luck-based abilities might also be in the school. Perhaps a spell that can cause improbable good things to happen to an allied recipient, or another spell that cause misfortune to fall on enemies? Scrying might have more immediate spell options too: A simple spell that lets soldiers see in the dark, for example, or something that lets commanders communicate in a battle without having to send couriers.

I like'em. Keep'em coming.
Is my D2D good? I'm ambivalent.

It's alright. First D2Ds are always hard, since you don't have anything to react to yet.
Finished my application, by the way. I await your approval. Let me know if my characterization of Varinus is off though, I figure he was probably pretty civil to start off with at least.

I liked your D2D, still struggling to think up what my second one is. I think I might start probing both sides of the border, it's too early for a war but..I think we could have a few skirmishes?

Could work. I don't know if I can shoot you with lightning or not yet though. I admit fried goblins are appealing, but I'm kind of liking the idea of knowing exactly where every single skirmish team you send at me is beforehand.
Random divination suggestion: Power Sight - Detect magical power from artifacts, building or individuals.
Random other spell: Mana Feedback - Burn an enemy's mana supply, denying them the ability to use it and harming them in the process.

I'm just worried that your making magic way too powerful, it seems like it's jacked up on steroids but that's me. There's no drawback really and having a medieval spy satellite watching my every move is going to make thing's impossible.

It's not that bad. Magic costs Mana, which I have in short supply. I'm pretty sure that by Theo's rules I have to actively "cast" divination in order to detect your forces, and I'll likely only be able to afford two or three between updates. It might let me catch a raiding party or predict an invasion, but "medieval spy satellite" is an exaggeration. Besides, I have to point that spy satellite at you to predict stuff, which means its not pointed at someone else. And unlike Espionage, you can't do things like assassinations and sabotage with scrying.
Another spell suggestion: Block Divination (just like it sounds)

Yeah but giving magic both an combat role and a passive role is a little bit pushing it, especially if you can wreck someone's supply lines and such just by doing it. If you do then I don't think you should be able to build mana constructs.

Perhaps not then, I'll let Theo figure out the balance. I do want to see magic have a noncombat option though. We already have a couple kingdom traits that are more like secondary combat traits, and I'd like to see magic be a more utilitarian one. Players could go with elementalism/necromancy and be combat-oriented, or they could use divination and Enchantments to get the upper hand in negotiations.

I see what your saying and it would be interesting I agree, i'm just worried about it being overused is all if there are not checks and balances in place.

Ok, I am apparently retarded. How do you calculate your MP at the start?

Theo has the rules written down wrong. It's 3 MP per million citizens right now.

I'll fix it.
Yeah, you can have 15 different spells but you'll only have like 4-5 Mana every two weeks to cast it anyway.

Hey, Theo. Shouldn't I be getting +2 happiness an update instead of -6? I've got Local Beliefs (+4) and Rule of Law (+2), minus 4 for my two cities. That's +2, not -6.
