The Caliphate GuardsmenThey are the mainstay of the caliphate's military force, its first and final line of defense. Currently, the caliphate's guardsmen has members of over 27,000 military personnel that is being stationed all over the Merennian's realm. The caliphate employs the service of generals or commanders to lead their forces, generals would usually march in an army of over a thousand troops while assisted by commanders who led an entire regiments. Members of the society who enrolls into military service would have to sign a contract of serving in the caliphate guard for 20 years time. At the end of their service, they would be given an ample amount of money and a land to call their own, these rewards alone is suffice to persuade many brash young men into joining the guardsmen. Spearmen RegimentThe light infantry regiment of the Merenaz Caliphate, currently stands of two different organization, the Ghazi Infantry who are armed with a wooden spear or halberd and adorned with simple desert robe over a boiled leather armor makes up the main battle lines of the caliphate. Currently they numbered at 12,000 troops. Skirmisher RegimentsThe second is that of the Desert Archers who serves as the mainstay of the caliphate's missile troops. Adorned similarly in fashion to the Ghazi Infantry, these troops are however armed with different set of weapons. A crude dagger that they strapped by their waist belt and a composite bow as their primary weapon. Currently they numbered at 9000 troops. Light Cavalry CompaniesAside from the obvious infantry regiments, the caliphate also maintain a strong light cavalry force. These are divided into two groups, the first one being the Mounted Desert Archers. These troops are basically the mounted version of the desert archers but are highly trained to shoot and ride their steed at the same time, giving them mobility and range advantage over the more slowly moving infantry, especially in the desert. Currently they numbered at 3000 troops. The second one is the Fedayyin, these are the natives of the deep desert dwellers and are rather shunned and feared by the more civilized folks of the caliphate. The Fedayyin are a group of tribes that were excluded from the great war and even during peaceful times were rarely seen in the more civilized area, they do however benefit from the caliphate and offer their military service as camel riding mounted troops. Armed with boiled leather armor and javelins that they could throw at their enemies. Currently they numbered at 3000 troops.

Corsairs (Warriors/Skirmishers) Corsairs are the mainstay of the Farsaan armies. In times of war the Kaptans of Farsaan flock to the banner of a prominent admiral from their region, bringing their crews with them to form a vast host of Corsairs. Corsairs are the everyday Warrior of Farsaan, bearing no manner of uniform or any semblance of unity. From their black sailed ships Corsairs will deploy onto beaches or into the hearts of port cities, burnings and pillaging anything that gets in their way. Skilled in the ways of ambush, they are truly fearsome fighters. Corsairs wear any form of clothing such as linen, leather, or light mail if they're lucky, although their gear is almost always black, black being an easy pigment to make in the Farsaan chain. Their armament is often made up of Sabers, Scimitars, Boarding Axes, Spears, or any other manner of cruel weapon they could get their hands on. Some Corsairs bear long ranged weapons, usually recurve bows (Skirmishers).
Black Turbans (Spearmen) The Black Turbans are Servant Soldiers, trained from their youth to be Warriors to their Pasha. Used by the lowliest Kaptan up to the Sultan himself, Black Turbans are well known for their loyalty to their chosen Lord. When a prospective Lord goes to a buyer, he will select a number of children from the slave stock that have been deemed properly made for the task. From there he will send his prospective Black Turbans to a trainer, the richer lords having one in their employment. The trainees will be indoctrinated to serve their Lord and will be trained to be the perfect Soldiers. When their training comes to an end at the age of sixteen they will be sent to their Lord to serve as his personal guard. During wartime they are formed into groups by Kaptans and used as formations of spearmen. They are often armored in Mail Loricas of Brass and Red Cloth, although this is not always the case. However, it is always required that one wears a Black Turban at all times, giving them their namesake and letting people surrounding them know of their purpose. They are almost always armed with some form of Glaive, Spear, or Halberd, along with a scimitar for close quarters combat.
Gorgon Corsairs (Swordsmen) Gorgon Corsairs are the Elite of the Corsair Fleets. Coated in Black Iron war plate and bearing vicious warblades of fine make. Each piece of plate is embossed with inscriptions or a leering Gorgon maw of brass. Their helms are fearsome visages of monsters from the deep, topped with spiraling horns or brass spikes. Feared by their fellow Corsairs their order has become more and more distant from it's fellow piratical warriors. One common trait within the Gorgon Corsairs is to pick a Blood Brother, one who shares the blood bond with the other warrior. It is believed that through the blood bond warriors will fight with the added fury of their brothers. Gorgon Corsairs are most often plated in War Plate although will sometimes go out in Mail Loricas when speed is a demand of their mission. They wield all manners of hand weapons but most frequently they carry edged war swords that carry the same vicious maws that their armor has.
